Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is owned by 11 area physicians, most of whom were either born or educated in the Cincinnati area. It's grown into one of the premier companies of its kind, offering a host of services from spine and chiropractic care to physical therapy and outpatient surgery. And it counts among its clients the Cincinnati Reds.
The company will undergo a major expansion at its Sharonville location, adding 29,000 sq. ft. to its existing 38,000-square-foot headquarters for its growing physical therapy and clinical practices. They’ll also add a ‘web lab,’ allowing the doctors to view new operations, equipment and procedures via the Internet.
“We are fortunate enough that even in this challenging economy, the demand for our services has consistently grown,” said Ms. Mary Ellen Pope, Beacon’s chief financial officer. “More than anything, we need the space for physical therapy, which has grown tremendously over the last several years and is just really cramped for space. We’ll also be using the expansion for new clinic space, new physicians and to handle the overall growth we’ve experienced in patient volume.”
Beacon Orthopaedics also will unveil a new D1 Sports Training Center in late 2009. The performance training facility will be one of 10 D1 locations nationally, and the second one Ohio.
“Beacon Orthopaedics is expanding to meet the needs of our athletic patients. We will expand our clinic space to accommodate our physicians and help with patient flow and patient comfort. We will also expand, not only the size of physical therapy, to meet the large volume need, but increase our spectrum of care to accommodate all of our patients, young and old,” said Timothy E. Kremchek, M.D., a founders and co-owner of Beacon Orthopaedics.
